Wise-up School is a child care and learning center with facilities for creche, preschool,
nursery, elementary and middle school. The school is an educational institution designed to
provide learning spaces and environment for the teaching of pupils/students under the
direction of seasoned and well-trained educators.
The school was founded in 1998 by Dcns. Mrs Maria Obute out of her love for young children
as well as her desire to offer the best foundation for their growth and educational
development. The school started out as a creche with only 5 babies at 105, old Oko-Oba Road,
Agege, Lagos.
The school has grown in leaps and bounds.
Our Curriculum
The creche is an intensive care facility for babies between the ages of 2 months to 1year 8months. The creche is well equipped and emphasis is on safety, hygiene and comfort. The caregivers in this section are caring, motherly and experienced. It is opened from 6:30am to 6:00pm from Monday to Fridays. The creche is closed on weekends.

We offer quality preschool education because we know it is every child’s foundation in attaining the best of education. The process, the styles and the appropriate learning aids used in teaching our preschoolers makes learning fun for them. We run a blended curriculum in the preschool. Our nursery school operates a blended child-centered curriculum. The curriculum is a blend of Montessori and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our nursery classes provide our pupils with the strong foundation that they need for their development. Our curriculum is designed to help build our pupil’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional proficiency. The curriculum is designed to develop independence, confidence, love for learning, independent thinking, problem solving, creativity, imagination, curiosity, positive values, life skills and attitudes through play and learning that will create a total child.

OUR CURRICULUM
Our elementary education provides pupils with learning and educational activities typically designed to help them with life skills and fundamental skills in reading, writing and arithmetic. Our curriculum helps pupils establish a solid foundation for understanding core areas of knowledge and personal development, thereby preparing them for lower secondary education. Our elementary school imbibes the International Primary Curriculum (IPC)and the Nigerian curriculum for primary schools. Priority is given to individual child and pupils are guided through learning in a conducive and child friendly environment. We ensure all domains of learning (Psychomotor, affective and cognitive) as well as learning styles are covered during lesson planning and delivery.

OUR CURRICULUM
Our curriculum is challenging, exploratory, interactive and relevant. Our curriculum is broad-based and tailored to suit every child. At Wise-up Middle School, we aim to enable our students develop their full potentials in academics, entrepreneurship, leadership, sports and creativity. We expect our students to study to acquire excellent character and develop useful skills that will help them in the real world. Our educational program is centered around the international middle school model and philosophy that considers the unique needs of the early adolescent as a learner and as a person. Our middle school encompasses grade 7 to grade 9.

Three terms make an academic year. Each term is an estimate of 13 weeks with 3 -5 days short school break in between.
The Fall term commences in September and ends in December. The Early Spring term commences in January and ends in April. The Late Spring term commences in April and ends in July.
In August there is a summer program to prepare students for the demands of a new academic session and for exposure to new and exciting areas not explored in the standard academic program. The summer program will feature intensive academic courses, performing arts program, thrilling outdoor adventures, sports training and exciting cultural excursions.
